Zoo Comparisons

We had taken Arabelle to the Jacksonville Zoo just before Bo was born, so nearly 2 years ago! She was just a bit older than Bo is now. I snapped a few pictures last week that reminded me of that visit in 2010.

Arabelle at nearly 22 months old now at 3.5 years old. She sure has grown up!!

First ride on a train! Arabelle at 22 months and Bo at 20 months. They were both saying "chooo choooo!".

Have a great weekend!

Paint & Play

Arabelle asks to paint EVERY DAY! We usually do watercolors or do-a-dots because it's easy to clean up. Wednesday, I mustered up the energy to get all the paints set up outside (it takes longer to set up & clean up than the actual painting time!). Arabelle was soooo happy! Bo had just woken up from a nap and didn't get into it much.

Ready to paint!

They both look very intense!

And, Bo was done!

He perked up when the popsicles came out.

Swing Set

We got a new swing set last week! We didn't tell Arabelle about it until it was being put together, but she was SO excited when she found out! She spent most of the time they were building it on the back porch watching them. She'd run inside to give me updates every few minutes.

We had someone put it together for us, for the sake of our sanity (and our marriage! ha!). It took 3 'handyman' men 5 hours to put together, so I imagine it would have taken a loooonnnngggg time!

I think it's the perfect size for Arabelle and Bo and will be entertaining for years! Arabelle calls the part at the top of the slide her "castle".

I am SO glad they each have a swing now!

Puddle Jumping

We got some good rain yesterday and Arabelle spotted a big puddle across the street, right at Ms. Sue's driveway. She was ready to get her rain boots on and go puddle jumping!

Bo insisted on wearing his sunglasses out. :)

Telling Bo "bye bye". He wanted to stay outside and splash.

Bo is 20 months old!

Bo is 20 months old! He has grown and changed so much since his 18 month update!

  • You talk A LOT now, especially at home. You don't have much to say when we are out and about. You can say all the colors, but you rarely match them up to the right color. You like to re-arrange the magnetic letters on the fridge and saying random letters. The biggest surprise is that you can count to 10!
  • You have been eating a ton the last few weeks! In the mornings, you ask for a 'wafull' for breakfast and you want it cold! Then you eat part of our breakfasts and eat another breakfast when Arabelle gets up. You're getting pretty good with the fork!
  • You have a pretty good routine for nap and bedtime. You take a nap around 1pm and sleep for 1.5-2.5 hours (usually 1.5). You wake up really cranky if you nap for 1.5 hours and wake up happy if you sleep 2.5 hours. You go to bed around 7:30-8 and wake around 6:30-7.
  • Sometime after 18 mo., you stopped wanting to carry a spoon around. You still enjoy brushing your teeth.
  • Your favorite things are airplanes (you love pointing them out!), balloons, school buses, firetrucks, playing outside, swinging, holding hands, and 'reading' books.
  • Your favorite foods are cheese, cookies, grapes, bananas, and yogurt. You will eat mostly anything these days!
  • You and Arabelle have so much fun together! You both love to run up and down the hall playing 'chase'.
  • You don't eat in the high chair anymore! For a few weeks, Arabelle sat in the high chair and you sat in the booster seat. We finally got a new booster seat though and now you both eat in booster seats!
  • You still ride rear facing in the car seat. You don't seem to mind! I plan to keep you rear facing until at least 2 years old. You like to watch your DVD player in the car now. If Arabelle has hers, you have to have one too!
I can't believe how close to 2 years old you are getting!

Spring Break

We had a great time at the beach this past week! We left Saturday and came home Thursday, after visiting the Jacksonville Zoo.  We went with Leigh Leigh, Julee Brooke, Rhianna, Gigi, and Tripp. Sambo came Wed. evening.

Sharing a room with Arabelle and Bo went about as well as you can imagine. My kids are noisy sleepers! The first night they were both up at 2:30 and didn't go back to sleep until 5am. Arabelle was SURE it was day time outside (there was a light in the hallway outside, so it was a little bright in our room). Luckily, the fun of the beach outweighed the lack of sleep. :)

Ready to play Saturday afternoon!

Sunday Morning:

Sunday Afternoon:

We ate at Sliders Sunday evening. The kids LOVED the playground. Really easy to keep the kids entertained while we waited on the delicious food!

Tuesday: Arabelle was soooo tired Tuesday morning. We went inside early and we all took naps. I had to wake Arabelle up after 3.5 hours!

Wednesday morning, it was cloudy and breezy, so we went to a park!

Wednesday afternoon, after nice naps, we hit the beach!

Thursday morning, we got up and went to the Jacksonville zoo!

I think their favorite part was the splash area!

We had a great time! It was sooo nice to get home to our own rooms and beds and see Jared! ;)

Thanks for the beach trip Sambo and Leigh Leigh!
