Christmas Day 2012

Bo was up at his usual 6:45 on Christmas morning. Luckily, he didn't realize it was any kind of special day, so he was fine with hanging out in the bed with me and watching Curious George until Arabelle woke up. When she woke at 7:30, she didn't really remember either! When I told her though, she hopped right out of bed and was ready to go!

Bo's gifts:

Arabelle's gifts:

So excited!!!! Bo was right on her heels.

We didn't take the time to brush her hair. She was excited to get a helmet to match her bike she got last year.

And a piggy bank! Hers broke about a month ago and she hadn't really said anything about it until the day before Christmas Eve when she saw Lowndes get one from Grandma and Grandpa. She said "I asked Santa for one too!". Um, no, she hadn't! ;)

They both enjoy so many of each others gifts. They both LOVE this cash register and the play money in it!
 His fishing rod!

They both got a candy cane shaped thing of M&Ms and ate them all before lunch that day.

You will be surprised that I didn't take a single picture that day after they opened their gifts. We had Sambo, Leigh Leigh, Connie, and our church friend, Ms. Ernestine over for Christmas breakfast, then Mamaw and Papaw came for lunch. Mamaw brought turkey, dressing, sweet potatoes, and more for our lunch feast. Then we all rested a bit before having our friends, the Paik's over for dinner. It was such a fun day and we didn't even have to leave the house!

20 Weeks: Half Way!

I can't believe it, but we're half way to meeting this sweet baby!

*I never know what to call the baby, since we're not finding out the gender, so to avoid calling the baby "it", I'm going to refer to him/her as Baby C (since Arabelle and Bo are A & B....not saying the name will start with a "C"...you know we haven't even discussed it!)

I had my 20 week ultrasound today and got lots of cute shots of the baby's profile. Baby C had their hands up near the face the whole time.

Pregnancy Highlights:

  • How far along: 20 weeks 4 days
  • Size of baby: About the size of a banana, 10 inches from it's head to heel. On the ultrasound, Baby C weighed an estimated 13 ounces (40th percentile)!
  • Total Weight Gain: 7 lbs since my last appt....YES, 7 lbs in a month! I guess I really DID enjoy the Christmas season to the full extent. ;) 9 lbs total. Not too bad for half way, but more than ever for me.
  • Maternity Clothes: Definitely for pants. I've got several shirts that still work and have been wearing Lindsey's size Small maternity shirts. I'm sure I'll grow into my Mediums soon!
  • Gender: We didn't look when he did the measurements on the lower half (bladder, femur, umbilical cord, etc.), so we really don't know!
  • Movement: Definitely feeling lots of kicks and jabs now throughout the day. I can see and feel the baby move from the outside now too. This is my favorite part!
  • Sleep: I am still exhausted by the end of the day and want/need my 8 hours at night.
  • What I miss: Having a lot of energy, running
  • Cravings: No cravings really...still can't stand the thought of a hamburger or steak right now.
  • Symptoms: I still feel nauseated most of the day, but it eases a bit right after a meal. Obviously the growing belly and baby kicks!
  • Best moment of the week: seeing the baby on ultrasound today!
The ultrasound did show one issue, a single umbilical artery (SUA). Normally there are two arteries (delivering nutrients to the baby) and one vein. In 1% of pregnancies, the umbilical cord just has 2 vessels, 1 artery and 1 vein. SUA can be a marker for other problems (chromosomal and congenital malformations), but everything else on the ultrasound looked fine and my blood work for chromosomal disorders was normal, so there's no reason to think there's any other issues. The only thing is the risk of the baby not getting enough nutrients and growth slowing later on in the pregnancy, so there will be some extra monitoring as I go along. I'll go in a couple of weeks for a level 2 ultrasound in Macon just to get a more in-depth look at everything. This may mean I'll have a 7 lb baby instead of a 9.5 lb chunkster! ;)

In the mean time, we're just praying that everything is fine and trusting in God's plan.

20 weeks

*Do not be anxious about anything, but in everything, by prayer and petition, with thanksgiving, present your request to God. And the peace of God, which transcends all understanding, will guard your hearts and minds in Christ Jesus. Philippians 4:6-7

Christmas 2012, Part 1

We had a whirlwind of a Christmas this year! It was so fun!

Saturday morning, we went to Pineview for the Bloodworth Christmas Extravaganza!

I was so excited to finally get to hold Jacob! He's 4 weeks already!

He was my nap buddy Saturday afternoon. I loved it!

Ok, one more. ;)

Of course, there was lots of playing outside too.

We played the "Thanksgiving Game" at Christmas this year and Brian took the giraffe with a record setting score. Caleb was SO excited to get the giraffe.

Waiting for supper

Arabelle was so excited when it was *finally* time to open presents.

The whole family

Games!

Uncle Matt and the boys stopped by for the afternoon & evening too. All the kids really enjoy playing with the older boys.

Ready for church on Sunday.

Bo went, but he didn't go to Sunday School with the others, which is why he was still in his PJs.

We had Sunday lunch at Grandpa and Grandma's house. Not sure what this look was about!

Who is excited!?

Arabelle got just what she wanted from Aunt Dawn....footie PJs!

Monday we enjoyed the Roberts' Christmas. We all chowed down on Ranchero's for lunch (and we're still enjoying the leftovers!).

Bo thought it was funny to sit in Sambo's seat and enjoy his cookie. See his hammer there on the table? He did a lot of repairs on Monday!

Ready to pass out gifts!

I think Gigi was most excited about her iPad mini!

Arabelle got a Doc McStuffins Dr. kit and LOVES it!

We figured out how to get the 2 girls quiet...iPads! ;)

Arabelle and Bo opened their gifts from our friend Nancy Monday night. I don't think they'd ever get tired of opening gifts!

Arabelle especially liked her Barbie and horse!

And the box. ;)

Stay tuned for Part 2, Christmas Day!

Nativity Program

Arabelle and Bo had their Nativity Program at school today. They were both "listeners", so they wore their Christmas PJs and did so well! It's amazing how still and quiet such a large number of little ones will sit still at school!

Arabelle was on the other side, so I didn't get a good one of her.

Of course, they got the rest of their treat bags and got started on eating!

Arabelle and two of her favorite men....her Sambo and Papaw!

Arabelle wasn't as excited about taking a picture with me, it seems.

We went to the park for a few minutes before a pizza lunch.

Waiting for Papaw to come down the slide:

It was a "super fun" day!!
