USPS Field Trip

We had a great field trip to the US Post Office in Douglas last week. It was our first field trip of the school year.

The kids loved going 'behind the scenes' and seeing how mail is processed and delivered each day.

Maybe Bo will work at the Post Office when he's older. He certainly wouldn't have any trouble being up at 5am for the mail delivery from Jacksonville. ;)

Go Dawgs!

I pulled out the UGA clothes for Mae and Zeke on Saturday. It always reminds me of when Arabelle and Bo wore the same outfits and really makes me realize how FAST time goes by!

It must be a big sister thing to make sure little brother is looking where he is supposed to be. :)

Saturday was our day alone, so we played a lot!

And Mae helped me make Arabelle's birthday cake. Obviously, she enjoyed licking the bowls. :)

And here's Arabelle in the same cheerleader outfit with skeleton Bo:

Arabelle is 7 years old

I have no idea how we are already celebrating Arabelle's 7th birthday! She has grown and changed so much in the last year.

Arabelle and Bo spent a few days at Mexico Beach with Papaw and Mamaw to celebrate their birthdays. They had SO much fun!!!

They spoiled Arabelle on Sunday with birthday decorations and a pancake breakfast!

They got home around 3 for presents and cake!

Mae, Zeke, and I went to get a balloon yesterday. Mae wanted to get the Elmo balloon, but we ended up with the butterfly one. :)

She was a little excited. :)

Arabelle blew out 6 of the candles then said, "Mae, blow out the last one!". She's the sweetest big sister!

I made Arabelle her own small cake and cup cakes for the rest of us.

Mae is always up for a party.

Excuse our paint samples on the wall.

Arabelle wanted a rainbow cake, so she got one!

We love you Arabelle!

Zeke is 4 months old

Zeke was 4 months old on August 17th. Time is flying by!

  •  He is getting to be such a big boy! His 4 month check up is next week, but I'm guessing 16+ lbs? I moved him up to his 9 month onesies because they were getting too short to fit over the cloth diapers. He's wearing 6 mo footie PJs at bedtime and a size 3 disposable diaper.
  • Zeke found his feet just a few days before he turned 4 months old.

  • Zeke is still doing pretty well at night! He learned to roll from back to belly and now sleeps on his belly. I was afraid the transition would be difficult, but he did't make a peep that first night and was fine! Once he was rolling, I dropped the swaddle, which was also easy. Phew!
  • Zeke's naps have improved some. Usually once per day, he will take a long nap (1.5-2 hours) and the other two are 40 minute naps. He is transitioning from 4 naps to 3 naps, so on the 3 nap days, he tends to go to bed around 6:30.
  • He still loves baths! He kicks and kicks and has so much fun! Here's a video of bath time.

  • He still takes the pacifier some when he wakes early or is fussy in the car.
  • His awake time is around 1 h 20 minutes for the first nap and around 1h 45 min or 2h for his last nap.
  • I dropped the 10:00 dreamfeed since he was still waking too early in the morning. Now he wakes around 2:00-3:00, then makes it until 7ish. He's had a few early mornings, but tends to take a really long morning nap to make up for it.
  • We are still following the eat, play, sleep routine and nursing around every 3-4 hours, obviously it depends on naps.
  • Zeke is such a happy little guy and so ticklish! Here's a video of Zeke laughing.
  • I got out the PINK exersaucer for Zeke to play in and he loves it! Here's a video of one of the first time he played in it. There's a little mirror on the side that he's looking at and he was smiling at himself so much!

  • Zeke rolls over pretty much the second he gets put on his back. And tries to sit up when I prop him in the chair. He loves to kick and squeal when he's on his belly, but he gets tired of it pretty quickly. It makes for some whiny independent playtime, but we're pushing through it.
  • He still loves to be outside and swinging on the porch.

  • Zeke at 1, 2, 3, and 4 months.

Mini Moments

I'm behind again (what's new? This will be normal from now on, I guess).

We are all enjoying our Story of the World lessons. Here's our ancient China pictograms.

Arabelle's was a bow and arrow.

Bo's was a soldier.

Tried out the double stroller the other day and Zeke isn't really a fan yet.

My battery died the other day at the library, so we had to wait for help, Arabelle said, 'Make a sad face!' ha!

Luckily my little hoarder brought a bag of his toys, so we had plenty of entertainment.

Bo came to our room one night and said that he saw a scary thing flying around that had a green light. He drew this picture the next day of what it looked like. ;)

Color wheel:

He found his feet!

Zeke checking out the new place.

Mae is looking so big!

I think it's safe to say that Bo is obsessed with Lego's.

Haha! I think the flash got him.

Last week we studied Ancient Africa, so we made some African painted hands and we read a story about Anansi the spider, so they made a drawing of their favorite part of the story.

That about catches us up for now!
