What a week....

We had an exhausting week (physically and emotionally). It all started last Saturday (the 21st). Mae took a tumble down the back steps and got a scraped up nose, which as finally healed up!
We hosted a Sunday School party that day that lasted until 9:30 or so. The kids had the best time playing in the dark and catching frogs. Then it all went downhill trying to get them into the bed.....

Sunday the 22nd, Arabelle lost her 2nd tooth! It was pretty loose and she wanted me to pull it. I'd wiggle it a little and she'd ask me to stop, catch her breath, then sing, "I'm a big girl! I'm a big girl!". A couple of wiggles and it was out!
Monday Arabelle started piano camp, so I picked her up at noon and we came home for lunch. We went on the front porch after lunch, like we usually do, then she and Bo were playing the game where she goes inside and Bo rings the doorbell. Well, she was opening the door and her hand slipped and she poked herself in the eye. She ended up going to sleep because she couldn't open her eye.

I thought she'd be okay when she woke up, but she wasn't so we went to the eye Dr. and he said she scratched it pretty badly and did some antibiotic drops and put a pressure patch over it for the night.

Have I mentioned we had Vacation Bible School from 6-9pm Monday-Friday?

Mae found Bo's sunglasses one morning.....
And Mae was TIRED from the long days of VBS!

Arabelle's eye wasn't feeling any better on Tuesday morning, so I took her back and they put the patch back on until Wed. morning, when her eye was a lot better. So, when I was going to get her from piano camp on Wed. afternoon, Bo had a balloon that he had been blowing up and playing with. It popped while we were in the car waiting on Arabelle. He was sad.

Then I thought it'd be fun to pick up pizza and have a picnic at the park after piano camp and before Arabelle's speech appointment. It was a good idea, in theory, but it was so hot and they were so whiny....oh well, we survived. Mae kept trying to climb and got stuck over and over.

She did love the swinging. :)

Early Thursday morning, our neighbor's house burned down, and we are just so sad about that. Poor Bo, every single time we go outside, he says, "I'm sad that Ms. Sue's house burned and she doesn't live there anymore.". The rest of the week was just a blur.....

Arabelle did make Mae a swimming pool in a bucket on Friday afternoon.

We really did have a lot of fun at VBS. As tiring at it can be, nothing can beat seeing kids learn about Jesus!

Friday night, the kids showed the parents what they learned. Here's Bo's class doing their song:

And Arabelle's class (I was actually her teacher)...she's on the back row in the black t-shirt:

We are enjoying a camp-free week this week and spending some time at HOME!

A Beauty

This has been the most stressful and exhausting week, but here's a picture of Arabelle from last Sunday that I wanted to share.

She LOVES to fix her own hair and I just love the way she looks at herself in the mirror when she gets it just right. :)

I hope she always feels so confident in herself. I definitely felt silly when I went out a couple of weeks ago with my hair styled to match hers. Haha!

A Royal Wedding

Tuesday, Arabelle and Bo had a royal wedding. Bo put on a pair of Jared's dress shoes, but couldn't walk very well in them because they were so big. He put them back and said, "I'm gonna get my dancin' shoes!". You can see what he's wearing....princess dress up shoes. Ha!

Arabelle squatted down for the picture because "the prince is always taller than the princess". Oh, and those crowns and necklace......that's a race track set they have.

No wedding is complete without a dance!

Sweet Sleeper

When Bo had soccer last week, Mae had a couple days of disrupted morning naps. Jared took Bo two days and our babysitter came one day, but the other 2 days, she just had to deal with it.

Tuesday, she fell asleep on the way home. I love her sweet chubby cheeks!!!

Friday, she stayed awake on the way home, so I rocked her a few minutes and she went right out. I sure enjoyed the cuddles!

That afternoon, she napped again, but still was tired, I guess. We went out to swing on the porch and she laid down like this and sucked her thumb for a few minutes. Poor girl!

I'm glad to be home this week so she can get her rest!

Father's Day 2014

We had a fun Father's Day weekend! Saturday, the kids and I went to Papaw and Mamaw's house to swim, play, and eat.

Arabelle enjoys taking pictures now too. You just have to get down on her level. :)

Arabelle and Bo are like little fish now!

Bo being a 'shark'.....his fin is there in front of his face.

Here's a video of Arabelle swimming. Later she jumped off the diving board and swam all the way to the steps!

Sunday, we had lunch at Sambo and Leigh Leigh's house after church.

My babies love their Daddy!
 Four generations of Roberts men!

Arabelle wanted a 'girls only' picture too.

So thankful for all the Father's in our lives!

Puddles

Ok, I've fallen off the blogging wagon, but I'm trying to hop back on!

Sometime in the last couple of weeks, it rained, so we splashed (as usual!). Arabelle actually didn't want to splash this day, which has never happened!

Bo's Soccer Camp

This week, Bo had the First Kicks British Soccer Camp. He really enjoyed it!

Arabelle did this came camp back in 2012 with several other kids, but this year, Bo was the only one in his group, so he had the coach all to himself. Coach Matthew said Bo is actually pretty "exceptional" for a 3 year old because he doesn't have a dominant foot and uses them both pretty well.

Ok, Bo is so cute in these next few. The coach told him he could have an ice cream cone after finishing a drill, then made him an ice cream with the cone and soccer ball and Bo thought it was hilarious!

And, of course, he had to bring his Mama an ice cream cone too. :)

Jared was able to take Bo a couple of days, which Bo really enjoyed too.

A few videos. I wish you could hear Bo talking the entire time while he was doing the drills. He never stopped talking to the poor coach!

They give each camper a comment card and this was Bo's. I think Coach Matthew and Bo did have a little bond made by Friday.

It was really fun to watch him learn and I'm curious to see if he wants to continue with soccer in the future!

Fernandina Beach Vacation!

Saturday, May 31, we loaded up and headed down to Fernandina for a few days! We were all SO excited!!

This year, we took our sweet babysitter, Lysa, for the extra help. She was the difference between a stressed out trip and a true vacation. She helped bathe kids, put sunscreen on them, get meals on the table, played with the kids in the pool/ocean, etc. When one wanted to be in the pool and the other at the beach, it was easy! I don't know that we will ever be able to stand going again without some help!

Of course, the pictures are all out of order, so I'm not sure which days the pictures are from. We got there and threw our stuff in the condo and went straight to the beach! We played a couple of hours and had pizza for supper. Great start to vacation!

I know these next pictures are from Sunday. It was WINDY (20+ mph) and off and on drizzly. Not the best beach day. We went down late morning for some fun though!

The water was pretty chilly, but the kids didn't care!

As you can see, the waves were pretty big there!

Mamaw and Papaw had been at St. Simons Island that weekend, so they stopped over for the afternoon.

Monday morning we got up for a walk and to look for cool shells and shark's teeth. The weather was perfect that day, so we spent most of the day in the pool or on the beach. All 3 kids had nice long naps Monday afternoon!

Tuesday morning Mae was awake before 6, so she and I went down to the beach for a little photo shoot. She LOVES the beach!

Tuesday evening, we ate at Slider's, one of our favorites! Of course, we sat outside by the playground.

And here are the rest of the beach pictures, all out of order.

I know this one was from Wednesday morning, the day we went home. We squeezed in a couple of hours on the beach before leaving at 10.

Mae saw this blanket and laid right down and did this:

Here's a video from the cool/windy Sunday. You can tell the wind is really whipping....I can't believe Jared and Daddy got in the pool with them!

We had the best time and there were at least 3 of us who were pouting about having to come home so soon. ;)

So thankful we had a few days away to enjoy one another!
