"I need Jesus!!!"

So, I got the kids a little Nativity set for them to play with and learn from. We sat it on the floor just after lunch and Arabelle was singing and playing with the figurines. Jesus seems to be Bo's favorite. I think it's mainly because of the shape. If you know Bo, you know he likes to carry around his spoon and/or fork for a while after he eats. This little baby Jesus figurine is just perfect for his little hand! Arabelle had them all set up how she wanted when she realized the manger was empty. She realized Bo had Jesus and started yelling "I need Jesus! Bo, I need Jesus!!!". I stopped her from yelling at him and told her yes, she did need Jesus, but not the actual figurine. She found something to trade him (a bouncy ball, I think) and they were all happy.
Very serious here

Baby Jesus in one hand and his spoon in the other

They were all asleep here
This afternoon, before gymnastics, Arabelle made some glitter snowflakes! I had cut them out lat night. We put glue on them and sprinkled the glitter. I think we will hang them on the windows. She really liked this project! We just did 3, so we'll be doing more soon.

One last pic....Arabelle wanted to get out of the stroller this morning and go for a 'run'. She chose her clothes today. :)

'Tis the Season!

We are starting to get excited about Christmas! No tree yet, but Arabelle and Bo have started wearing their Christmas clothes and we got out the kids' Nativity Scene today. I got a small one that they can play with. They both loved playing with the figurines and hearing the Christmas story. Arabelle did pretty good telling it back to me! Hoping to get the decorations out this week!
This was Sunday. Bo and Arabelle had snowmen on their outfits. Bo's was a hand-me-down (FREE!) and Arabelle's was on clearance last year after Christmas ($7!).

Look at this big girl! She has become a fan of "big" hair bows too!
At the Christmas tree farm with her school today.
For to us a child is born, to us a son is given, and the government will be on his shoulders. And he will be called Wonderful Counselor, Mighty God, Everlasting Father, Prince of Peace. Isaiah 9:6

"I love all my family!"

We were on the way home from Albany tonight and Arabelle was getting sleepy, so we were saying her prayers. Afterwards, she said "I love all my family! And all my family is MY family!". :)

We went to Albany today to spend the day with Moma Love, Mamaw & Papaw, Uncle Matt, Aunt Catherine, Matison, Ish, Besic, & Isa. It was a fun day! Arabelle really loves playing with the boys, although it takes her a little while to warm up to them each time. On the way home, she said "Where's Besic?". She said he was supposed to come home with us and could sleep with her. :)

I took my camera but never got it out. Too busy enjoying the family! Arabelle took hers though and got some pics that I will have to upload later.

Practice

I've had my Canon Rebel XS since Christmas 2008, but have mostly taken pictures in Auto mode, which means it automatically adjusts lighting, etc. It takes great pictures in Auto mode, but I've wanted to learn to make the adjustments to get even better pictures. So, I've been taking the camera outside a lot in the afternoon and have come away with some really good ones!

 Some end up too dark:

Or blurry:

But every now and then, they are just right!

Arabelle is a little harder to catch because she moves a lot faster than Bo and a lot of the time, there is hair in her face.

More pictures Mom?

Running

This happened in about 5 minutes this morning. Arabelle said Bo did it. ha!
And one funny story from Arabelle: I was laying on the floor tonight and she and Bo were assaulting me playing doctor. She was giving me 'shots' on my face. I asked her if she was giving me Botox. She said "No, metox", meaning "Arabelle" instead of  "Bo". haha!

Basketball

Bo started basketball practice today. He has never really paid attention to the basketball goal before, but he couldn't get enough of it today. I guess he was waiting for the cold weather.

And, he can climb up the slide by himself.
