Moving In

We moved in to the new house on February 25th. The big kids were at Papaw and Mamaw's from Thursday until Saturday afternoon, which was incredible. The entire time we were moving, I kept thinking we could not have done it with kids underfoot!

Our great babysitter came and played with Zeke and cared for him while we moved. Jared and the movers started just after lunch and had all the furniture and boxed items moved by about 8:30 pm. It was a long but successful day!

I set up a play area up in the boys' bedroom. Zeke was checking out the view the first morning there.

View from the boys' room.

We took a trip to Lowe's before the kids came back Saturday. It's so weird being out with just one kid! It's also funny when people ask if Zeke is our first. The shock factor is definitely there when we say "fourth". Ha!

Not too sure about all this activity:

First meal at the new house all together! Someone was a little excited. :)

Arabelle was most excited, I think. She came running in the house and looking all over. She ran to Jared's leather recliner and said, "Daddy's chair is brown!!!". I asked her what color she thought it was and she said black. Ha! All the natural light in the living/kitchen area made our old furniture look really different (and dirty....ha!).

Mae checking her view:

She loves sitting up front in the car when we drive over to Sambo and Leigh Leigh's. She'll ask "we not going on the road?" and get so excited to find out she doesn't have to sit in the car seat.

Mae was in the crib at the old house, so the move to the new house also brought the transition to a twin bed. I was really worried because Mae tends to push the limits, but she has done really well! She is even napping most days on her bed (and just 'rests' the other times). Every morning she comes to our room when the clock turns green and says "I didn't get up!!"

First morning at the new house:

My closet is still a mess because every time I have the opportunity to get it straightened up, Zeke is sleeping in there. I am hoping to move him up to the boys' room next week. He still wakes once a night, so I have to get the baby monitor set up, but Bo is asking to have him up there with him.

Grandma Shelby came the Monday morning after we moved to help out and it was AMAZING! She helped unpack, cooked, cleaned, played with the kids, etc. I'm sure she slept really well on Tuesday night when she got back home! The kids loved having her here so much!

One of my favorite parts of the day is watching Arabelle and Bo zoom to the mailbox on their bikes to check the mail. They quickly figured out to tuck the mail in their waistband and tuck their shirt in over it to carry the mail back home. :)

We are loving life at the new house!

Mini Moments

Here's what we've been up to lately!

While Jared, Arabelle, and Bo were gone to Athens for the football game a few weeks ago, Mae did a little painting while Zeke napped that afternoon. As you can see, she had different ideas about her canvas.

You can tell she has an idea here....

The finished product! She took a bath next. ;)

Bo asked me one day when he was doing his math, "What is God's favorite number?"

Zeke has started eating some food! So far he's had bananas, sweet potatoes, roasted carrots and broccoli, and avocado. He has liked it all! I keep forgetting to put him in the high chair to eat though, so some days he just has milk like usual. Fourth kid problems, I guess. ha!

We went to Tifton last week for an oil change in the van and we HAD to check out a fun park there before coming home.

Zeke seemed to approve.

The new house is coming along. The girls in their room:

And Bo in the boys room:

We went to Pineview Friday for our Thanksgiving celebration:

This is my favorite little face that Zeke makes. He does it a lot and I think it's so sweet!

Papaw and Mamaw with 10 grandkids!

We aren't doing all the usual Christmas decorations because of the move after Christmas, but we've got a few strings of lights in the kids' room and the Nativity scene. They are loving it!

While the big kids were eating brownies this afternoon (made by Arabelle and Bo) and Zeke practiced a little with his sippy cup.

Mae was asleep when A & B baked the brownies and she was excited for a treat when she got up. :)

I'll leave you with a baby taking a bath in the sink, one of my favorite things!

Mini Moments

It's been awhile again! We've been busy with school and soccer the last couple of weeks.

We spent a little time at the new house on Saturday. The kids love to play in the dirt, hunt frogs, and make believe. The house is coming along! You can see the siding is going on now....

Mae was really excited to see a bathtub in! I am curious to see if she realizes we are actually going to MOVE over there.

Mr Lego made a set of baby dinosaurs and a brontosaurus over the weekend. He likes to watch the youtube video for the step by step instructions.

Sunday afternoon we made some ugly but tasty caramel and chocolate apples.

Mae never got to the apple part. She just ate the caramel and chocolate off.

Monday we had to make a run into Harvey's for fruit before getting Mae from pre-school. Zeke sat in the car buggy for the first time and Arabelle and Bo hopped out of the van dressed as super heroes. Ha!

Zeke is the sweetest little nugget! He is always peeking through his play pen when I go to get him after his play time.

He and Bo love playing a little rough.

Mae got out of the swing and 'let' Zeke get in. I took a picture then made a video (watch HERE). She says it's her turn very soon after Zeke started swinging. Ha!

Zeke is getting mobile really quickly! He has learned to sit himself up and can scoot around and rock on his hands and knees.

His favorite place to be in the evening during his little 'witching hour'.

Mae took over the school this week and drew "Mamaw Papaw" on the dry erase board.

I found a really neat art tutorial for kids on Youtube called Art for Kids Hub and Arabelle really enjoys it!

This was her first one....pumpkin and leaves.

Bo followed the instructions on the drawing of the pumpkin, but went off the radar on the coloring, blending, and shading. He wanted a multi-colored pumpkin.

Both kids are playing soccer and enjoying it! A soccer post with videos coming soon.

One day last week, there was a homeschool field trip to the Sheriff's office. One of my friends picked up Arabelle and Bo and took them for me since I was under the weather.

They had a great time! I asked Bo to draw me a picture of his favorite part of the trip. He drew these men. The green one is the Sheriff's officer (with a 'star' on his shirt) and then 2 prisoners. At least one is really happy. ;)
