Spring Porch Washing

By this time of year, the porch is usually covered in pollen and dirt and the kids LOVE giving it a good washing!

Arabelle is always up for a project, while Bo usually isn't into anything that resembles work, but he really got at it and did a good job! Mae loved the bubbles, of course.

At this point, they were just being silly (and soaked!).

So I've got a clean porch and had happy, wet kids on a warm afternoon!

Early Mornings

One day last week, we were outside and playing before 8:00! Bathing suits, swinging, and playing in the water!

We're still pretending that summer will last forever. ;)

Car Wash

Last Tuesday morning, we took the 'cars' out for a wash. Mae joined right in with the big kids.

I guess Bo thought HE needed a washing too. ;)

Bo had me laughing.....he decided to try to put the car in the bucket to finish washing it.

Then he put himself in the bucket!

We ended up having a picnic that day too. Mae's first picnic since she started eating 'real' food. Arabelle and Bo were so excited.....we haven't done one in awhile!

Spring Porch Washing

Once it warms up in the Spring, we always get out and wash the front porch down and have a little fun!

It was definitely difficult taking a few pictures while making sure the camera didn't get wet and keeping Mae from falling down the steps.

Mae loved the soap bucket (and yes, she's gnawing on a stick Bo put in the water. Oops.).

Arabelle took the job very seriously.

And Bo was, well, Bo. :)

The water hose has a little hole in it, so they had a 'sprinkler' too.

Mae saw Bo washing the door and joined in.

This is hilarious to me. Sums up our days around here...WILD and CRAZY! :)

I guess this is another 'thing' we'll be doing every year and I'll take pictures of. I always wonder how long I'll get away with these things and have them smiling. Do you think they'll be grinning like this when they're 17, 15, and 12??

Splish Splash!

If you ever need to entertain Bo for any length of time, just fill a sink full of soapy water and add some toys. He will play for a nice long time! :)

We had a *little* watery mess to clean up, but it was worth it! 

Slip-n-slide

Arabelle and Bo have really enjoyed the slip-n-slide this year. It hasn't stopped Arabelle from asking if we could get a "BIG pool" though. That girl loves to swim!

Bo did this, then stood up whining saying that his belly hurt. No wonder!

Snake and Slip-n-Slide

Last Thursday, Leigh Leigh came over to stay inside with Mae while I took Arabelle and Bo out to play on the slip-n-slide. I am WAY too out of shape to be slip-n-sliding....it wore me out and I came away with some bruises, but it sure was fun. :)
