Disney World, Day 3

Day 3 was our first day at the Magic Kingdom. When I think of Disney World, I think of the Magic Kingdom and I was SO excited for a full day there!!

We got there bright and early for the Welcome show, which had several Disney Characters riding in on the train. It was a great way to kick off the day!

This series of pictures is hilarious to me.....I attempted several times to get a family picture and it never really turned out 'perfectly', but I'm loving the outtakes!

Once the gates opened, we dashed to our first attraction. Emily at The Journey of Parenthood hooked me up with Touringplans.com. You enter the attractions and entertainment you want to see that day, breaks, meals, etc., then it optimizes your plan according to crowd level, walking distance, wait times, etc. and gives you the optimal schedule for the day. It was awesome! We never waited more than 20 minutes or so for a ride and most of the time it was much shorter! Also, using the FastPasses helped a TON! You get a ticket for a designated 1 hour time frame to return to the ride and use the FastPass line to skip ahead. I don't understand why so many people wait in the regular line!

We started in Fantasyland, the newest area at the Magic Kingdom. I think it was my favorite part of the whole park. We started with Under the Sea, the Journey of the Little Mermaid. This was one of Arabelle's favorite rides. :)
 So excited!!!

Next we went right over to Ariel's Grotto to meet Ariel! It's right next to the Under the Sea ride. Arabelle was so shy around all of the characters (not surprised!) and wouldn't talk to them, but Bo would just start talking right away.

When he met Ariel, he showed her his new shoes.

Then Ariel asked him if he could run as fast as a shark in them. Bo must think Ariel isn't too smart because here he is telling her that sharks swim in the ocean, not run. ;)

Next we rode Peter Pan's flight (another one of the kids' favorites!) then grabbed a FastPass to ride it again an hour later. We walked right in with no wait to watch Mickey's Phillarmagic show, a little 3D movie. Apparently 3D movies in general scare the kids because they hated it and it wasn't even scary! Oh well.

We rode the Prince Charming Regal Carrousel, again with very little wait (under 5 minutes!). The kids never really could find the camera on this ride. :)

We took a snack break, then rode Peter Pan's flight using our FastPasses. Bo loved seeing Captain Hook and the crocodile at the end!

We did It's a Small World next. Apparently it's a classic Disney ride. I can definitely see how the dancing and twirling dolls could freak some kids out! haha! Arabelle and Bo liked riding on the boat and Papaw took a little nap. ;)

The Mad Tea Party (teacup ride) is another thing I think of when I hear Disney World. They both enjoyed it!

Alice from Alice in Wonderland was right outside the teacup ride and there were only a few people in line to see her, so we hopped in to meet her too.

I think we took our lunch break after this....we packed a picnic lunch every day, which saved some money and was fun! Arabelle especially always enjoys a picnic.

I went to grab our FastPasses for The Barnstormer (roller coaster ride) and Dumbo the Flying Elephant while the rest of the group went to drive the race cars at Tomorrowland Speedway. Jared looks huge in this car and you can barely see Bo's little head!

While we waited for our FastPass time to come up for the next two rides, the kids enjoyed running and getting wet at the Casey Jr. Splash and Soak Station! The adults enjoyed getting to SIT and rest for a few minutes too. After a quick clothing change and a snack, we were ready for more rides!

Popcorn with Papaw

All 6 of us rode The Barnstormer and Dumbo the Flying Elephant, so no pictures of those this time. Bo and Arabelle both say that the roller coaster is one of their favorite rides!

We were actually running AHEAD of the touring plans schedule, which really surprised me! Arabelle was dying to see Cinderella's castle, which we walked past early that morning to get to Fantasyland.

We walked around and realized the Dream Along with Mickey Stage Show was starting in about 30 minutes, so we grabbed a good spot in front of the stage, got some ice cream, and enjoyed the show!

They both LOVED it because it featured all the Mickey characters, princesses, Peter Pan, Captain Hook, and more!

I had been hoping Bo would nap in the stroller, but no such luck there, so we decided to do a few more things and head back towards the townhouse for supper and bed.

Arabelle really wanted to ride the roller coaster again, so we did. I could only get one good picture...Jared and Bo. haha! You can see Bo's hair flying in the wind there to Jared's right.

Next we grabbed our Fastpasses to meet Mickey and the Princesses at the Town Square Theater. While we waited, Papaw and Mamaw treated Arabelle and Bo to a treat of their choice. Arabelle picked cotton candy and Bo chose M&Ms.

They ended up sharing with one another.

First we met Mickey for the 3rd time on the trip! We didn't even need the FastPass for Mickey because the line was just 10 minutes!

Next was the princesses! That day, Rapunzel, Jasmine, and Cinderella was there. Again, Arabelle was really excited, but didn't actually speak to them. :)

I think it's safe to say that Jasmine was Bo's favorite. He ran up to her and immediately started playing with the jewels on her top. It was hilarious!

Jasmine thought Bo was pretty funny too.

Bo walked right up to Cinderella and showed her his Georgia Bulldogs shirt and asked if she liked the 'dawgs'.

After meeting the characters, we rode the monorail back to the car. Bo was wired!

We did have a little more adventure that day though. After supper, we went back to the house to shower and crash. All I wanted to do was get clean and lay down. Well, we had locked the only door to the outside the night before, including the latch, but had gone out the garage that morning. We didn't have a garage door opener, so the only way IN was through the door, which was latched from the inside. Luckily, Jared is quite the handy guy and after trying a few things, he used a laminated map he found in the car to slip in the door and get it open. Phew! I can't believe we're the first to do that. I had called the after hours maintenance and they acted like it had never been done! He was coming over to break the latch off, so I'm glad Jared managed to get in without damaging the latch ($$$).

I will admit that I cried when I realized we were locked out.....cut me some slack though...I had just waddled around Disney World for 8 hours! ;)

We all CRASHED pretty quickly that night!
