Baby Shower

We celebrated Caleb's soon to be arrival this weekend! Lindsey came down Friday evening for her Saturday morning shower. Jill and I hosted at Mom & Dad's house. We had a great turn out and Lindsey got a lot of gifts for Caleb. 5 more weeks!

Best Friends

Arabelle told me the other day that I was her best friend. I also had to go get a dinosaur cup to drink out of, like her. That's what best friends do, apparently. I know the day will come, too fast, I'm sure, that she has another best friend, but for now, I'm going to enjoy being her best friend. :)

I was putting a band-aid on this morning (cut my finger fixing lunch yesterday....Arabelle told me "You gotta be careful!") and she said she didn't like the plain old band-aid. She quickly got out a Dora band-aid for me. Of course, she needed one too. Usually I require blood for a band-aid, but I figured best friends need matching Dora band-aids, right?

Snow!

Well, not really. We got a box today (had a free $10 at soap.com with no minimum purchase!) with a TON of those packing peanuts. Arabelle woke up from her nap and saw them in the box. She was playing with just a few, then got in the box. Next thing I knew, she had flipped the box over. I thought she was about to cry, so I started throwing them up in the air. Arabelle had a ball playing in the 'snow'. :)

He did it!!!

Bo took a nap this morning that was longer than 40 minutes! The afternoon nap was just 40 minutes, but it's a start! It wasn't until Arabelle was 8 mo. old that she started sleeping longer than 40 minutes during the day.

Yesterday afternoon, Jared was working with Drake on his retrieving. Arabelle wanted to fetch too!

Arabelle has been saying some funny things lately!

• Jared shaved his beard off mid-week and while he was laying down with her one night, she said "Put your beard back on, Daddy.".
• We were eating lunch at Danny's Pizza on Thursday (our usual!) and Arabelle was "playing" the arcade game they have in the corner. I said "You won Arabelle!" and she turned around, looked at me, and said "I not one, Mama, I two.". 
• She has done this one several times....Someone will be talking to Bo and she'll look at them very seriously and say "Bo can't talk". 

I'm sure there are more, but I can't remember them right now. She keeps us laughing!

Happy 5 months Bo!

Bo is 5 months old today! He is changing so much these days.

• You are a big boy! You probably weigh around 19 lbs now. You're in the 90th percentile for height and weight. You're in 9 mo. clothes if it's a top and pants and 12 mo. if it's all one piece. I'm moving you up to size 4 disposable diapers now and have unsnapped all your cloth diapers to make them longer. 
• You can sit up on your own for a little while now. A few minutes, if you're not tired. Sometimes you just lean right over though.
• You are constantly rolling from back to belly. You try SO hard to go from belly to back, but can't quite do it yet. Soon, I bet! 
• You love to jump and play in the exersaucer.
• You've started going to bed much earlier now. You take 3 or 4 forty minute naps during the day (yes, NOT enough!) and go to bed between 5:30 and 6:00. You wake for the day around 7:00.
• You're nursing 5 times during the day and 2 times during the night.
• We moved you to your crib just after Christmas and you've done so well! You also sleep unswaddled now and on your belly.  You gave up the pacifier several weeks ago and get really mad when we try to get you to take it. I caught you sucking your thumb today. :)
• We also moved you to your convertible car seat this month and you seem to like it better. You actually sleep in the car!

Weekend at Mamaw and Papaw's

Jared and Sambo went to Mississippi on a duck hunting trip, so we headed to Pineview Thursday morning. It was nice to have some help and get a break while Jared was away. We hung out at Mamaw and Papaw's on Thursday and Friday and visited with Grandpa & Grandma, went to Albany on Saturday, went to church on Sunday, and came home this afternoon. Mamaw and Papaw spoiled all 3 of us! I slept in several days and the kids got all the attention they wanted from their grandparents.

Life is good

We have been enjoying some 'normal' days around here. No where to go, nothing too exciting going on. Arabelle's personality is really coming through these days. I am always calling or texting Jared during the day to tell him things that Arabelle says or does because I don't want to forget to tell him. She is so funny! Bo has really started rolling a lot now, but just back to belly. He hasn't quite gotten over from belly to back, but he is trying SO hard! He also tries to scoot a little, but 18 lbs must be a lot for a little guy. He does rotate himself around on his blanket on the floor. I can put a circle of toys around him and he'll get around to all of them!

Arabelle went to school today, despite the cold weather. She has been doing so good lately! I asked her if she cried and she said "no" in a tone that made it seem like I was crazy for asking...of course not! Ha!

Fun week!

We've been having a fun week! We stayed in our PJs all day yesterday and got out today for lunch with Jared. Thursday is our usual lunch date and I'm always ready to get out of the house by then! Arabelle starts back to 'school' tomorrow morning. Hopefully she'll get back in the routine easily.

I got the high chair out for Bo to sit in when we are eating. He seems to enjoy being up there with us instead of in the bouncy seat on the floor. Arabelle likes him being there too. I think she's going to love it when he starts eating table food in a couple of months.

We did some painting yesterday morning. I think it takes longer to set it up and clean it up than the time she spends painting, but she sure has fun!

Arabelle was bouncing her bear to sleep. Notice he's wearing a diaper! We just got Bo moved to his room last week and haven't moved the glider from our room to his yet, so I stuck an exercise ball in there to bounce  on while I get him down for his naps. Bounce him for a minute or 2 and he's ready to sleep! Arabelle is such a good little mama to her babies and stuffed animals.

Bo always looks so funny to me when he wakes up from a nap and I unswaddle him. He takes a BIG stretch!

We also got Bo moved to his big car seat and out of the infant seat. It was getting too heavy to carry and I was hoping he'd ride better in this seat. He does! He falls asleep pretty quickly in it if he's tired. He crashed on the way home from lunch today.
