M-I-C-K-E-Y-M-O-U-S-E, Mickey Mouse!

Bo has a slight obsession.

It all started 2 weeks ago during Vacation Bible School. He got hooked on the little stuffed Minnie Mouse in the church's nursery. All week long, if I said something about VBS, he'd say "Minnie Mouse!".

Then last week, he found the Minnie Mouse that was on Arabelle's birthday cake last year. He held her all day and all night. Sunday, I noticed the leg was about to fall off, so when I was at the store Monday, I found him this Mickey Mouse! 

Good timing too, because Minnie's leg fell off Monday and he was SO upset. He'd get over it, then remember and cry again. Poor thing! I've hidden away the Minnie and he's super happy with the Mickey, as you can see. 

And of course, when it's Bo's turn to pick the show they watch before bedtime, he always chooses Mickey Mouse Clubhouse. :)

It's interesting because at this age, Arabelle was all about Elmo, hence the Elmo birthday party when she turned 2. For her 3rd birthday, she was into Mickey Mouse. I wonder what Bo will be into in a few months for his birthday!

Haiti

In just 5 days, Jared and I are leaving the comfort of our home and heading to Haiti!

We'll be doing a Vacation Bible School for children in Port-au-Prince near a church there in the city. We're very excited! Obviously, I'm anxious about leaving the kids for so long, but I know they will be in good hands and have SO much fun! Hopefully they won't wear Papaw and Mamaw out while we're gone. :)

I am hoping to blog a bit while we're there. We'll have the internet at the guest house where we'll be staying.

Gone Fishin'

Saturday morning, we took the kids fishing at the pond behind the blueberries. Jared got us some worms and crickets and we were on our way!

Once we got there, Jared had to fix Bo's bamboo pole with the red rubber fish on the end, then get Arabelle's Mickey Mouse pole ready. In that time, they were both crying and whining about fishing. I was wondering if it was a good idea or not! ha!

Luckily, once we got started, they LOVED it!

We had a 'picnic' snack per Arabelle's request, then fished some more.

Bo started getting his feet in the water a bit and it gradually turned into this!

Luckily Sambo stopped by, so he was on 'Bo duty'. He went too deep a couple of times!

We didn't catch any fish, but that didn't seem to matter. We all had fun. :)

Soccer Camp Wrap-Up

We finished up soccer camp on Friday! Arabelle really got into it and enjoyed it! They basically played a lot of games that involved running and kicking the ball.

Her favorite was the dragon game. The dragon (her soccer coach) would go to sleep with all the eggs (soccer balls) around him. When he fell asleep, the kids would run to kick the balls back to their home. If he woke up, they had to freeze so he couldn't see them. Fun!

Sweet Sleeper and a Hair Cut

Bo has been such a good sleeper for the past several months. He's been up two nights this week and it's worn me out! I've gotten used to my sleep again. He was up this morning around 4:30 and I just brought him in bed with us. He flipped and flopped and finally settled in.

I'd definitely prefer him sleep in his own bed, but I loved waking up to this sweet face this morning!

As you see, Bo's hair has gotten long! We took him to the barber shop for a cut today and he did SO good! I was really surprised! He got fidgety about half way through and the barber told him he'd give him a piece of gum at the end. Every few seconds Bo would say "gum??". :)

The finished product! He looks so much older to me!

Soccer Camp

Arabelle has been enjoying soccer camp this week! Her class in an hour each morning. She started out really shy, but has warmed up and really enjoys it!

Father's Day Weekend, Part 2

Sunday, we let Daddy sleep in, then went to church together. We played in the backyard, then Jared grilled some delicious steaks for supper! Sambo and Connie came over for dinner too.
