Halloween 2011

Arabelle has had so much fun dressing up the last few days! This is the first year we've done much and it's been fun. We went to Pirates, Princess, and Pancakes breakfast at her school on Sat. morning, fall festival at our church Sat. evening, fall festival at my parents' church Sun. afternoon, and she had a party at school this morning. We stayed home this evening and had a few kids come around. She had the best time handing out candy! She didn't even think about the fact that she could go one day. :)

Quite possibly my favorite moment was this evening. Our first trick-or-treater was just leaving and Sambo drove up and stopped for a minute. Arabelle was so excited that he came for candy! She really thought he was going around trick-or-treating. ha!

Fall Outfits

Aunt Kay (Jared's Aunt) is SO talented and made these two cute outfits for Arabelle and Bo for fall. Aren't they so cute?! Several people at church asked me if I made them for the kids. Ha!

Thank you so much Aunt Kay!

Catching up!

I am trying to play catch up on here! I intended to do this post on Wednesday, but we are trying to get back in the swing of things with Jared back at work, etc. Wednesday was Mamaw's birthday and we celebrated on Oct. 15th. We enjoyed a hayride, lunch, corn maze, ice cream, and then family time at Mamaw & Papaw's. It was a great time to celebrate Mamaw!

One funny story from Arabelle--we were finished with the ice cream and were in the bathroom before heading back to Mamaw & Papaw's house. I told her we were about to leave and she said "But Mama, we didn't do the corn maze!!". But we DID do the corn maze...Papaw carried her around a corn field for nearly an hour. I guess it wasn't as fun as she thought it would be!

Bo is 14 months old!

I skipped the 13 month post, but I think I'll try to do one every 2 months for now. Bo has grown and changed a lot in the last couple of months!

  • You can RUN! You love to run up and down the hallway after Arabelle, but your favorite time to run is when you're naked just before bath. ;)
  • You are starting to talk some. You clearly say "bye bye", "hey", "drake" (which you say when you see any dog), "ba" for ball, "dada", "mama", and lately you've been saying "Bo".
  • You have 7 teeth with more on the way. Your molars are starting to come in, which has been fun for both of us.
  • You are nursing in the mornings and at bedtime. You love to eat and are always trying to get into the cabinet for snacks.
  • You spent your first night away from me a few weeks ago when I took Arabelle to Atl. for a Dr. appt. You stayed at Mamaw and Papaw's house and did great!
  • You take one nap/day, usually around 1.5 hours. You go to bed between 6:30 and 7:00 and wake between 6:30 and 7:30. You have been sick with a cold and teething, so you sometimes wake at night.
  • You LOVE color crayons and trying to color with Arabelle. You try to carry them around the house.
  • You love to play outside and are starting to climb up the steps on the slide. You really enjoy playing at the park.
  • You are obsessed with shoes!

This means "up"!

Pumpkin Patch

Arabelle's class went on a field trip to the pumpkin patch on Monday. Arabelle was shy, as usual, but had a lot of fun!

Bo's favorite activity at the pumpkin patch

Walking through the hay bale maze. She and her friend held hands the whole way through.

Snack time!

Still playing

As most of you know, we've been BUSY since Tuesday, so I have gotten a little behind on here. We carved a pumpkin on Tue. morning and Arabelle loved that!

An update on Jared since his micro-discectomy: He is doing great! No more back/leg pain and just a little soreness at the incision site. We are looking forward to getting back to our usual routine soon!

Shoes

Bo has become obsessed with shoes. He tries to put on anyone's shoes and gets really annoyed if he can't get them on his foot. I remember Arabelle doing the same thing, but it's a little funnier to see my son running around the house in a high heel. He can go pretty good in them!

Arabelle and Bo were really making some noise earlier today. :)
