28 week update

28 weeks! It's officially the 3rd trimester!

• How far along: 28 weeks 3 days
• Size of baby: I had an u/s today and the baby's estimated weight was 2 lb and 14 oz! That's the 53rd percentile. Since the umbilical cord has just one artery instead of two, the baby is expected to be 'smaller'. I asked Dr. G to look back and see what Bo was measuring at his ultrasounds. I didn't have one at this point with Bo, but at 20 weeks, he was in the 50th percentile and at 35 weeks he was in the 75th percentile. So, this baby may not be so 'small' after all!
• Total weight gain: 19 lbs so far. I did start 5 lbs under my 'normal' weight thanks to the half marathon training, so maybe that's why I'm going to gain a bit more? Still on track to gain about 30 pounds (been going 1lb/week for a while now).
• Gender: Still a surprise! 
• Movement: The baby moves a ton now! I had the glucose test today. About 5 minutes after drinking the sugary beverage, the baby started going nuts! I guess he/she likes sugar. :)
• Sleep: Still sleeping okay. I'm generally so tired by the end of the day that I crash quickly and sleep pretty hard. By morning, I'm ready to get up by 7 because I can't handle laying in bed a long time. 
• Cravings: It's kind of disappointing, but I'm not craving anything! I still don't like steak or hamburgers, thanks to the 1st trimester aversions. I tried some of Jared's steak last week...yuck!
• Symptoms: Having a little bit of sciatica now and then, so I started going to the chiropractor a couple of weeks ago. I'm hoping that going on a regular basis will keep things feeling okay. 
• What's next: I get one more 4 week break between Dr. appointments, then I'll be there every week until the end. Next appt (32 weeks) starts the weekly non-stress tests and every 2 week ultrasounds to monitor the baby's growth.

There is no longer any doubt about there being a baby in there!

I did share this on Facebook a few weeks ago, comparing the 'bump' with Arabelle and Bo to this one. Most people replied guessing a girl this time!

Valentine's Day 2013

Since school was cancelled on Wednesday (TONS of rain this week!), the kids' Valentine party got moved to Thursday. They were SO excited this morning!

I found these little mailboxes at Target for $1 a couple of weeks ago. They were perfect to stuff a few little treats in and I know they'll LOVE playing with them!

Arabelle finished up art class for the week today, so Bo and I have had some quiet afternoons this week! Bo got a chocolate covered marshmallow in one of his treat bags and I had stuck it back towards the back of the counter today, thinking Jared would enjoy it (they had a TON of treats at school!). Well, Bo found it (thanks to a step stool) and asked for it. Then he started dancing away to the music I had playing:

Raining

It's been raining (and still is!) since Sunday night/Monday morning, so our usual puddles are FULL of water! There was a nice break in the rain this morning, so we took advantage and went walking through the puddles and 'fishing' with Bo's fishing rod.

Arabelle and Bo both dressed themselves this morning. :)

Obviously we've been playing inside a lot. Bo was playing so sweetly with his train table today. I was in my room folding clothes and heard him saying "It's okay baby, Mama's got you" and "You're a big boy, come on!". :) So, I grabbed the iPad to video and caught a bit of it. Oh, that's pudding all over his face too.

Pajama Day

It's been all about the letter P this week at pre-school. Wednesday was a pancake party and today was pajama day!

It worked out well because none of us woke up until 7:40 and school starts at 8!

They were both excited to wear their favorite PJs today! This gown of Arabelle's was a find from the consignment sale last weekend. It was one of her favorite things!

Bo has FINALLY started smiling for pictures! I guess he has finally accepted the camera will be around and he may as well comply. :)

I made a little velcro felt puzzle for Bo and here he is trying it out. I am working on a few things to put away and have in his 'busy bag' for church when he's out of the nursery (age 3, so August!). I'm thinking it'll be a little more interesting having him in there with us than when Arabelle came out of the nursery. :)

Arabelle was working on her Valentine's, so that's what she was chatting about in the background. She stuck her arm in the glitter pen stuff, which is what she was talking about when she says something about a 'tattoo'.

Last week, Lindsey and her boys were down for a visit, so we headed to Pineview for a visit on Thursday!
