Gone Fishin'

Monday was such a nice day and Jared surprised us and came home early to take us (well, Arabelle and Bo had all the fun) fishing! Mae had just woken up from her nap, so she was ready for a snack by the pond. :)

 Arabelle gave Bo some fishing tips, then walked over to Jared and said, "I just told Bo all the rules of fishing". ha!

They were both so excited!!!

Arabelle got a fish right away!

And Bo followed pretty quickly!

Arabelle caught 5 and Bo caught 4, so they were really pleased!

And this was too funny not to include. Anytime Bo takes a bathroom break outside, Mae stands beside him, holds her shirt up, and says "tee tee!". haha!!

Gone Fishin'

I asked Arabelle what her weekend plans were and she said she was going to go fishing. Well, she had a great idea!

We gathered the fishing rods, bought some worms, and snacks and were on our way!

You've got to start with good snacks....M&Ms!

 I tried and tried with the Spiderman fishing rod, but no luck. All the fish were caught on Arabelle's Mickey Mouse fishing rod.

Bo was happier playing with the worms than fishing. 

And Arabelle enjoyed catching tadpoles for the empty coke bottle. She's excited to watch them turn to frogs!

It was a great day for fishing!

Gone Fishin'

It feels like Spring here, so we gathered the kids' fishing rods and some worms and took them fishing yesterday! Bo was happy as could be with his little rubber fish on his line, but Arabelle used worms. I think she had more fun playing with the worms than fishing. She didn't catch anything, but didn't seem to mind!

I asked her to smile for me before getting in the car and this is what I got....a glimpse into the future.

They were both worn out from fishing, having lunch at the hunting club, and playing that they BOTH napped yesterday. So, after supper and bath last night, we had a movie and popcorn night. They watched The Lorax and ate this big bowl of popcorn together in Jared's chair. 

Gone Fishin'

You know if it rains here and it's warm enough, Arabelle and Bo are ready to go puddle jumping! This time, Bo got the idea to go fishing with his new fishing rod. 

This morning we went out to fish and play in the puddle. Bo was so excited each time he reeled in the little red rubber fish. 

He sure didn't want to go inside for lunch and rest, but I promised we'd go back out this afternoon for more fishing. 

He was pleased when we went back out. He learned to cast pretty good this afternoon!
