Mae's One Year Well Check

Mae had her one year well check up yesterday and she's a growing, healthy girl!

We had the first appointment of the day, in hopes of a quick visit (wrong, you can never be in and out apparently). She loved sitting in every.single.chair in the waiting room. :)

Mae weighed 20lb and 4oz and was 31 inches tall. That's the 56th percentile for weight and 95th percentile for length!

At her 9 mo. check up, she was 17lb and 11oz (25th percentile) and 28.5 inches (75th percentile), so she's done a lot of growing in 3 months!

There was a lot of waiting, so we kept entertained with the immunization info papers. Mae says "thank you" at the 26 second mark, then shows her new trick of clicking her tongue there at the end.

So thankful for a sweet, healthy, growing girl!

Ten Years

May 29, 2004 seems like another lifetime ago! It's cliche to say, but I love Jared more today than I did when we were two clueless college kids (and seriously, we were kids!).

If you would have told me then that we'd be living here and have 3 kids, it wouldn't have surprised me, but there's no way I could have imagined what this life together would really be like. It's challenging, chaotic, difficult, but also full of so much love, laughter, and joy and I wouldn't trade it for anything.

Here's a few pictures from our wedding day....pictures of pictures of course, before they gave you digital copies!

I hate to say that I didn't care about the details of the wedding (obviously, I did want to look pretty in the dress!), but I wasn't too particular. So, thanks Mama, for planning the wedding. ;)

I did and still do really like the dress! Maybe the style will still be okay when Arabelle or Mae get married. :)

And the handsome groom!

Cutting the cake, which we literally had ONE bite of. Someone packed some food for us to take and didn't put any cake in it. I may have been a bit irritated about that at the time. ha!

I only wish we were heading to Hawaii tomorrow....at least this time we'd be old enough to rent a car. Haha!

So thankful for how God has blessed us these last 10 years and looking forward to what the next 10 will hold!

Mae's Birthday and Bo's Pre-school 'Graduation'

Mae turned one year old on May 20th! Of course, we did our best to make the day special for her! We started with blueberry pancakes and eggs. She wasn't sure about the candle!

 "Blowing out" the candle:

Arabelle painted a wooden jewelry box for Mae and wrapped it up. Then she kept wrapping up random toys for Mae to open. Both kids were really excited about her birthday!

Then we spent some time on the porch swinging and singing before nap time.

Arabelle took a picture of Mae and me. A little blurry, but we're in it!

After her nap, we went outside for a few picture and to play. She's loving her rocking chair from Sambo and Leigh Leigh.

After lunch, we went swimming at a friend's house, then home for a late nap before Bo's pre-school 'graduation' program. Fortunately, Bo napped too, so he was ready to go!

Bo is on the top row beside the balloons. He did well singing the songs!

Papaw and Mamaw came for Mae's birthday and Bo's program and we went out for Pizza after.

We had a tired baby on our hands!

Such a fun day to celebrate Mae!

Mae is 12 months old!

Well, May 2013-May 2014 has been the fastest year of my life! I can't believe Mae is a year old.

I have loved taking Mae's picture every month with her beautiful quilt (Thank you Aunt Kay!!!). She has grown and changed so much each month.

  •  Mae continues on the same routine as the last several months. Waking around 7 am, nap around 9 and 1:30, and bedtime at 7-7:30. I am LOVING the 2 naps/day and hoping to hang on to that morning nap through the summer.
  • She has also slept all night for the last month. It has been AMAZING!

  •  Mae still has just the two bottom teeth. I love to see them when she grins!
  • Mae is still nursing 3 times a day (morning, after the afternoon nap, and bedtime). She drinks almond milk with lunch and supper and eats plenty of cheese and yogurt. I'll be dropping the afternoon session soon and then drop the other feeds by mid-July. I will certainly miss the closeness and cuddles, but mostly feel ready to be done.

  •  I think she had a growth spurt last week because she was eating a TON of food. She generally eats a good bit anyway, but she was so hungry! She'd eat all on her tray, then yell, "nack, nack!!!(snack)" until I gave her more.
  • Favorite foods are cheese, yogurt, blueberries (thank you, Sambo!), strawberries, and bananas.
  • She's eating 3 meals and 2 snacks still and definitely wants to steal anyone's food!

  • Mae is quite the talker! I can't understand a lot of what she says (obviously), but new words this month are snack ("nack!!!"), Mama (finally!), and Arabelle ("aba"). She loves to point and talk.

  • I packed up all her 9 mo. clothes and pulled out the 12 and 18 mo. things. Her 12 mo. PJs are already too short, so she's in the 18 mo. PJs. I love seeing her in Arabelle's old baby clothes. :)
  • And now that she's a toddler, she's learned how to throw a fit....it ranges from pouting to full on crying/whining and rolling around the floor. So fun. :)
  • Her 12 mo. check up is next week and I'm excited to see her measurements! She seemed so petite  for so long, but now she looks tall to me.
  • Mae loves to go outside and will run for the door when I ask, "Do you want to go outside?". She also loves to swing on the front porch and cries when it's time to go inside.
  • She's such a cuddler and loves to hug and kiss.
  • She's starting to RUN and loves to be chased. Here's a video from a couple of weeks ago:

Arabelle, Bo, and Mae at one year old. I still think Mae favors Arabelle more than Bo, but I think they are all such cute babies. :)

Here is Bo's 12 month review.

First and Last Day of School

It's been a fast school year! August seems like it was so long ago. Look how much Bo and Arabelle have grown this year!

*They both had their feet on the door step in the first picture and just on the rug in the 2nd.

It was a fun year and they both learned so much. We are proud of them both!

Happy Birthday Mae!

Mae is one year old today! It seems like just yesterday that she was born.

I still can't get over how a person can go from this:

To this, in just a year!

I'll be blogging all about Mae's first birthday in a few days. :)

Car Wash

Last Tuesday morning, we took the 'cars' out for a wash. Mae joined right in with the big kids.

I guess Bo thought HE needed a washing too. ;)

Bo had me laughing.....he decided to try to put the car in the bucket to finish washing it.

Then he put himself in the bucket!

We ended up having a picnic that day too. Mae's first picnic since she started eating 'real' food. Arabelle and Bo were so excited.....we haven't done one in awhile!

Less Than a Year....

It took less than a year for Mae to figure out the fun of playing in puddles!

As you can see, she had a blast!

Playing Outside

We spend 2-3 hours outside every afternoon these days, so here's a few pictures of our fun!

Bo sure loves Mae's baby pool.

Mae LOVES to play in the dirt. She definitely earns her bath each night!
