Peace or Piece

I have to share this now or I'll forget.

We were playing in the back yard this afternoon while Mae napped. We were having a deep theological discussion, as it goes with a 5 and 3 year old who ask question after question after question.....

I said, "...and God will give you a peace" and Bo quickly followed with "of candy!!!!". Arabelle and I both nearly fell on the ground from laughing so hard.

That's Bo for you!!

Jesus is True

Every now and then, Arabelle and Bo create a band in their room. Arabelle had the Dora guitar (that Mamaw and Papaw bought her on a whim when she was 2, I think!). Bo had a rubber band attached to the 2 drawer knobs and was making music on it. They were singing a song that Arabelle made up called "Jesus is True". :)

Mae thought all the dancing and singing was hilarious and entertaining (and I did too!)!

Getting Ready to GO!

Mae thinks she's a big girl. I am NOT ready for a crawler, but it appears that she has different plans.

Looks like cleaner floors are in my future! I hope I've got a couple of more weeks!

*Arabelle started crawling at 6.5 months and Bo was crawling backwards for awhile at 6.5 mo., then forward around 7.5 mo.

Tiana's Birthday

It's no secret that Tiana is Arabelle's favorite princess. Surprise.....it was her birthday on Thursday (according to Arabelle)! Arabelle  wrapped up some gifts and we sang "Happy Birthday", complete with a candle!

Opening presents:

Look how happy Tiana is! Haha!

Bo was really excited too because he got an Oreo.

It was a fun, impromptu party for a special princess. :)

Arabelle's 5 Year Check-Up

Arabelle had her 5 year check up today and she did great! We weren't sure if there would be any booster shots or not, but she had already been worried about it. Lucky for her, no shots!

She measured 47 inches tall and 43 lbs. That's off the charts for height (still!) and just over 50th percentile for weight.

This child height predictor says she will be around 5ft 11in tall at age 18. It uses her current height and mine and Jared's height to come up with the estimation. Pretty neat!

She really liked the blue gown she was given to wear while we waited (a long time!) for the Dr. to come in.

Everything checked out normally! So thankful for a healthy girl!

No arms!!!!

Pumpkin Patch 2013

Bo's pre-school class took a field trip to the pumpkin patch on Monday, so Arabelle, Mae, and I tagged along for the fun!

Jared took Bo to school and he rode the bus and met us there.

Bo wasn't in the mood for pictures.

Until he saw the tractor!

We walked around the pumpkin patch:

Played on the playground:

Pumpkin baby!!! I bought this little outfit last year around Christmas from Belk's for $4. We didn't know if Mae would be a boy or girl, but I couldn't pass it up, just in case!

Took a hayride:

Walked through the corn maze:

And had a snack!

We always have so much fun at the pumpkin patch!

Fall Comparisons

Every now and then, I really slow down and watch Arabelle and Bo playing and can't believe how big they are!

We've been going to the pumpkin patch with the pre-school since Arabelle was 2, so I thought I'd do a little photo comparison.

Arabelle at 2 years old and 5 years old:

Bo at 1 year, 2 years, and 3 years old:

Tomorrow I'll share all about our trip to the pumpkin patch!

Reunited!

Mamaw came back from her mission trip to Russia last week, so we spent part of the weekend in Pineview!

We played outside Friday evening while Papaw grilled, spent the night, and played most of the day Saturday before going home.

As you can see, they had a lot of energy!!

Taking a ride on the Ranger. Safety first for Bo, with his backwards bicycle helmet.

We had a great time, as usual!

Mae is 5 months old!

Mae has been a busy little lady! She is now 5 months old!

  • Mae is such a happy girl! She's following a 3.5-4 hour schedule now and has been napping really well most days.
  • She is up for the day between 7-7:30. I wake her at 7:30 if she's not up yet. She is always SO happy in the mornings! She's taking 3 naps/day and goes to bed around 7-7:30. The first two naps are usually 1.5 hours and the last one is a short 40 minute nap. That nap can be a battle some days!

  • Night sleep seems to be all over the place, despite the day being very predictable. Some nights she will sleep through until 4:30-5, nurse, and go back to sleep. Some nights she'll wake at midnight and 5ish.

  • Not long after 4 months she started rolling to her belly to sleep, so now she's a belly sleeper. She cried for about 15-20 minutes the first time she rolled in the crib, then was fine with it. She's been completely off the swaddle since then too.
  • She still loves to suck her thumb and tends to prefer the right hand now days. She goes down without a peep for most naps. Sometimes she'll cry for a minute or so, but never for very long.
  • She doesn't nap very well at all in the car. She'll sleep 15-20 minutes at a time.
  • She is almost sitting up independently. She can sit for a few seconds before lunging over at whatever she wants. She enjoys sitting in the bumbo during story time.

  • She still loves playing with her feet and sucking on her toes.
  • Mae loves to spend time outside!

  • She really enjoys playing with toys now and loves jumping in her jumper. She also is really doing a lot of moving around!

  • She's in a size 2 diaper and size 6 mo. clothes. They are nearly too short though, so we'll be pulling out the 9 mo soon!
  • She still drools a ton and spits up only occasionally now. Her hair is really starting to come in now.
  • She loves to laugh and smile, especially at Arabelle and Bo!

  • She also has a new trick!

Mae is growing up so quickly! I think it seems to go by faster for each baby. I look forward to watching her grow and change in the months ahead!
